The
apparent deliberate killing of two Western reporters in the besieged city of Homs and reported deaths of some 60 people across Syria has triggered more Western anger towards the repressive Damascus government. Sunday Times reporter Marie Colvin, an American, and French photographer Remi Ochlik were killed by shelling by Syria's government forces. Colvin, 56, and Ochlik, 28, were reportedly staying in a house in Homs' area of Baba Amr that was being used by activists as a media centre when it was hit by a shell on Wednesday morning. her last copy for last Sunday’s Sunday Times, it is a powerful piece of war reporting, and exposes the harsh reality of what is going on in Homs (and other parts of Syria). We can certainly not say that we don’t know what is going on, the question is twofold – how much longer will we tolerate it and what can we do?
